Our seasonal vehicle health check is designed to provide you with the peace of mind knowing that your vehicle is suitably prepared for the season ahead. Below we provide some more detail about what\u2019s included and why each health check is important.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Battery and Charging System Check<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\n
\n

Battery failure is possible at any time of the year if its charging power is drained and it no longer has the power necessary to turn over the starter motor. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

The increased number of electrical components inside the car such as phone chargers as well as using heating and lights put additional strain on the battery. In addition, batteries naturally lose their charging capability over time, so it\u2019s best to get this checked out before you find your vehicle won\u2019t start in the morning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Coolant \/ Anti-freeze Check<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\n

Your engine\u2019s coolant level should be checked regularly to avoid causing serious damage to your engine. Coolant and antifreeze are actually the same thins and carry out the dual role of ensuring liquids do not freeze and crack the radiator in winter, while also making sure the radiator does not overheat in the summer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

As coolant ages it can succumb to electrolysis, causing it to become slightly acidic. If the coolant is not changed at the prescribed intervals, it can start to erode your engine and its related components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we carry out a Seasonal Health Check, not only do we check the coolant level, but we also check the quality of the coolant to ensure that it is still protecting your engine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Wiper Blades, Windscreen System and Screen Wash Levels Check<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The seasons in Switzerland can be very extreme and changeable so even in the summer months it pays to ensure your windscreen wipers are functioning properly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

Our seasonal health check includes inspecting your wiper blades to ensure they are free of splits and damage. In addition, in Switzerland it is recommended you wiper blades are changed every 12 months.  We also check the operation of your windscreen wash system and top up your screen wash if necessary.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Light Bulbs Check<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\n

Ensuring your vehicle\u2019s lights are working correctly is critical for your own safety and other road users. Whilst most modern cars have auto diagnostic systems to check headlight and stop light bulbs, the do not normally extend to the less critical areas such as number plate illumination. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

We will check that all bulbs are working, and if any need replacing, we stock most standard bulbs in our mobile service vans.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Windscreen Chips and Cracks Check<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\n

Windscreen chips can obscure your view making driving dangerous. Left un-repaired ice forming in the chip during the winter months can cause the chip to expand, ultimately causing the windscreen to crack and fail!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our mobile service vans carry the necessary equipment to repair most windscreen chips, and this can be done at the same time as your seasonal tyre change.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Oil Level Check<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\n

Most modern car lose a small amount oil when they are driven; as much as 1 Litre per 1500km is not uncommon. Low oil can cause premature engine wear and combined with the low winter temperatures in Switzerland can lead to engine problems and even failure. We check your engine oil level when we carry out a seasonal vehicle health check.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our mobile service vans carry a range of different viscosity oils, and if your oil level is low, we can top it up at the same time as carrying out your seasonal tyre change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We recognise that good quality oil is hugely important to keep your car running well \u2013 for that reason we only use Castrol motor oils.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Ad Blue Level Check (Diesel Cars Only)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\n

Ad Blue is an exhaust fluid for diesel cars \u2013 tiny amounts of AdBlue are injected into the flow of exhaust gases which causes harmful nitrogen oxide within the exhaust gas to change into nitrogen and water.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

If you run out of AdBlue the engines power and performance will be reduced. Once the vehicle is stopped the engine wont restart whilst the AdBlue tank is empty.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AdBlue tank on most cars is designed to last between 10,000 and 15,000 kilometres. During Our Seasonal Health Check, we check the level of the AdBlue. If it needs to be topped up, we carry AdBlue in our Mobile Service Vans.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
